96 cam into a 85 L-98

I can get a great deal on a slightly used cam out of a 96 vette. I am wondering if it will work in an 85 L-98 and if so are there any other mods necessary to make it work?

Well, the 96 is a hydraulic roller.. your 85 is not..

The nose of the cam is different. I am not 100% sure you can use the later model cam in an early block. I thought I have heard of some guys doing this.. You will also need Aftermarket Roller Lifters which are not cheap and new push rods.

For the work involved unless it is Free I would pass. Not even sure how well it would perform due to the intaske differences
