'96 CE Cruise Control

CC on my 96 CE suddenly stopped working. Checked fuse, it is OK. Found post from The Norwegian C3 thread by Admin. Wondering if this would apply to the 96 as well. Any help would be appreciated. New to this forum and also new to Corvette ownership. Finding that it is more play(?) than maintaining a Motorhome. Thanks

Two things, first check under the passenger-side injector cover in the engine compartment for a small vacuum switch. As I recall, it has three vacuum pipes connected to it. That thing is probably disintegrated from the heat under the cover.

Second place to check is the electrical switches up under the dash at the top of the brake and clutch pedals. These are the switches that disengage the cruise when you press either of those pedals. On my car, one of the switches activated by the clutch pedal had backed out of it's mounting bracket, and wasn't getting pushed in when the clutch was fully "up".

Third, check the vacuum lines running into the cruise vacuum canister. Acid from the battery can eat up the rubber and cause a leak. Any of these vacuum leaks can also affect the Climate Control system.

WRAD: Thanks, you were right with the first place to look. The line coming from intake was toast as well as one of the others going to the brake pedal switch. After seeing cheap plastic they used to make the vacuum switch I used some very good epoxy and modified the switch. Better than new!!! Thanks again.
