Last fall, on a trip to St. Louis, I stopped at a store to pick up some new wiper blades. When I turned the car off, I heard an "electric" noise that I eventually traced backed to the seat side bolster adjustment button. It wants to stay on in the "off" position, and when I turn it "on", the noise goes away. I managed to play with the seat so that it would shut off while driving and when I went into the hotel at night, but I was always afraid I would come out in the morning to a dead battery.

I guess I have two questions. Are the bolster adjustments tied into the vacuum system in any way, or are they just electric? Secondly, is there a way to get under the seat to unhook the control switch? I don't really adjust my seat once it's set anyway. And since I'm currently unemployed, I'd rather not have to take it in to the dealer for a new switch, or even worse, a new motor.

No there is nothing running to the seats but electricity. I'm not positive but you could probably get by by pulling a fuse after you set the seat. Also I'm pretty sure you can disable the easy access function of the column and seat in the DIC and it should not readjust when you pull the key. Mine changes with key insertion and does not matter if you turn the switch on or not. hope this helps :beer
