As a C3 owner, I am looking at buying another Vette, shock of shocks.

I seem to have zeroed in on the FRC body style.

Do the 99s have any inherent flaws or pitfalls I should be aware of when searching for one of these? I pretty much know C3s, but do not have a lot of specific knowledge of C5s.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Jim,
You might try taking a stroll through the CAC's KNOWLEDGEBASE on C5's, as well as our MODEL CENTER for 99's, and seeing if anything jumps out at you.

The only issue I've heard about in the '99 Fixed Roof Coupe (FRC, the forerunner to the Z06) had to do with an oil consumption issue.

Good luck on your Corvette search- you will love the C5!

Well, if you saw off the roof... it is a pain in the butt to glue back together!

Seriously, look in the knowledge base on the CAC. Problems with my C5 have included the tensioner, pulleys... the usual.

I went from a couple of C3's to my current 99 two years ago. Zero problems.
