The display on the A/C head unit, (I guess that’s what one would call it). Where the temp display and A/C and heater, fan speed shows has been acting up for a couple of months.
It would display the right most digit incorrectly. It was working in that I could count the clicks from 60 to 70 and it would display for example 60, 64, 68, 62, 65, 69.. and finally after 10 clicks 70 and so on. It was also getting rather dim as well.
It finally went dark Monday. I can still see the EXT, SET, the Fan speed and the A/C still functions properly but no digital numbers.
I guess this is mostly for C4C5 or Chick. (Or anybody else who has been in there). Can I just replace the display module or am I going to have to replace the entire head unit?

HI there,
Unfortunately, you will have to replace the head unit.
97 has its own part number, at around $700.
98-99 has a different one.
00-03 is also different.
I would check at any large Corvette meet, if you can get there, and reference your number on the back of the head unit itself.
Maybe you can find a used one.
Allthebest, c4c5:hb

That kindof expensive. Try getting a used one. I saw one in E-bay not to long ago.

Dim temp display

I'm having a similar issue, though the numbers don't skip. The display is just really dim. Almost impossible to see during daylight, and very dim at night. Adjusting the rheostat for the dash lights does not seem to have an effect. The dealership told me today $80 just to diagnose it. Suggested it could be the rheostat or the A/C control unit.

PS Mine is an '04. I noticed C4C5specialist did not include the '04s in the different part number list. Could I be looking for a '00-'03 control unit if I have to replace it?

Thanks.

I saw somewhere that there was a company that would rebuild them. Sorry I can't supply more info but maybe someone will jump in with the name.

Do you remember which mail order dealer you got this at?
If you want to drive up here,This Hillbilly can probly fix it!!:D:D:D

Had mine fixed by a guy on ebay called DigitalDashSolutions. Real stand up guy. He has done two for me and one unit I thought had problems and he offered to rebuild again at his cost for shipping and everything. It turned out to be a short in the car and wasn't getting full 12 volts. He offers and exchange unit or rebuild and return on your unit either way was less than a hundred bucks. Would highly recommend this guy just a small family business.
