Wondering

Paul,

Isn't " Harveys " the fast food chain who are advertising their food as being so hot and spicey, that people have to have access to the water cooler in order to cool themselves down after eating one of there meals. ;LOL

Just kidding

Bob,
Yes it is! BTW it looks like winter storage time later this week. I think Mother Nature forgot about Indian Summer this year. It's wet, cool and just plain miserable.

Paul,

One way or the other, my plates are up October 31st, anyway, so as Bug's Bunny used to say " That's all Folk's " for this years cruising as far as I'm concerned.

Personally I am not displeased in any way, because my Winter projects have already been started, and it's more fun working on them :D then driving them anyway.

regards
Bob

It's a beutiful day down here today. In the upper 60s and sunny. I'm heading out to do some yard work right now. I hope it's the same tomorrow as I have more outside work to get done this fall.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people choose not to spend a few extra dollars on comp coverage. Even guys like this who can obviously afford it. Comp covers anything that can happen to your car outside of a collision, even burning up in your garage. I always keep comp on everything I have. My unfinished projects have comp on them too. Something for you guys building cars to think about. Just because it isn't done doesn't mean you don't cover it. My '59 costs $15. a half and the '69 truck is $9. a half. The '81 is $123 for comp when it's in storage. One cracked windshield will be more than the premium.

Sounds like it could be another case of Lucas (Prince of Darkness) Electrics rearing it's ugly head again. The guy has (had) three British cars and should know better. Iv'e been working on MG's for years and the first thing I did to the electrics when restoring my B was to install a master disconnect switch ($40.00). Sad loss for those involved but thankfully no one was hurt.

The fellow obviously has money. Unlike me. Why he went with that insurance package is beyond me.

It's easy Paul

Paul

Now you know why those kind of people have money and we don't. They skimp on everything, and try to minimize on all that they spend.

Penny wise and pound foolish.

:(

67's and later have a fusiable link built into the wire harness. It's pretty easy to put one on older Corvettes in line with the main power line coming from the solenoid.

I have several fusible links in the basement inventory. They go for about $1.00.

You might want to have a close look

I had no intention of posting pricing for the fusible links ( later you will understand why ), but have a look at this,

The bag on the left contains a fusible link, supplied by one of the electric resellers that I won't name, and was sold to me for 3$ US. The spool on the right contains the exact same link, sold in a quantity of 25 feet, and the price in Canadian dollars was a very modest 4.15$ for the complete spool. It is from " Standard " and can be found in all the Auto Parts Resellers.

I was so impressed by the low price, that I bought 5 spools, one of each size. Now I have, and can install fusible links, for the next 30 or so years. :D

I was robbed;) ! Canadian Tire was $1.00/foot.

Go to your Auto Parts Plus, and buy it in bulk. I just checked the invoice, and the retail was 7.50$ but with my discount the price came down to 4.28$ per roll regardless of the size.
