1969 Stingray

First... it looks like I have a Franken-vette :eyerole 76 console, 78 doors... is that a bad thing? I know it is from a restoration perspective, but how do y'all feel about just for fun?

Second, and most important, I seem to have a strange rear end, not me... the car! I've been looking at other vettes and I haven't seen one yet that has this. Under the rear bumperettes there are 2 small lights about 2" in diameter. Any idea what they're all about? They're not the backup lights, those are in the centers of the tail lights.

Welcome Mike!

Welcome to Corvette Action Center.

Don't have an answer as far as the lights go...but as for the mixed parts...if it makes you smile when you drive, that should be all you need!
However, if you want to 'restore' it back to original...that may take some work and $. Good luck!
Come back often and tell us how you're doing with your vette.

Thanks Heidi! I'm really curious about this back end. I doubt that it's the stock '69 since there's no indents at the bottom edge for the exhaust. I'd love to know what this came from :)

Hi 1969,
You have a rear valance from a '68 on your car. So now you have 4 back-up lites. As for the console and doors, if you like them, use them. There are very few "all original" vettes out there.

Stingray6974, Thank you!!!!! I hadn't found any pic that would identify this. So now I have 4 years in place... another 46 and I can have a REAL anniversary corvette! :J

I dont know about you but all my parts are original, wrong year but original ;LOL

That's what I meant. Corvette parts from different years.:duh
I think the only 1964 parts on my '64 are the frame and the title and I'm not so sure about the frame.;LOL

Mike

I hear that.. but regardless no matter how many parts you put on a honda its still going to be worth less then the parts you put on :)
