It could also be a lease car at the end of its lease that the owner is buying out and selling on his own (and doesn't care how much he gets).

On a 98 coupe at the end of a 5-year lease the buy out is about $18k. Of course this will depend on the terms of the lease so $16.6k is not out of the question. .

I think it may just be a typo. The amount asked for is the same as the milage on the car.

Typo! She actually sold the car for $31K! The mileage was correct though.

In the North-East there are so many C5's for sale, that the price's are really low. In today's local paper l saw a C5, with 65,000 miles for $22,000 or B/O and the vette owners here think they have gold.

thats still along way from 16k,if there going for that price,pick one up,the c5 only ran 8 years.after the next couple of years, trade-ins for c6 will really slow down.then the c5 will be harder to find than everyone thinks,and its a great car.the c5 is also the last generation before sharing with the caddy,that does'nt both me like it does to some others.but it is a fact.

The only downside is that it's white.

Sounds like a rebuild with wrecked title. Check for fish in the glovebox.
