I customized my wife's 01 Corvette with a theme dedicated to her being a Breast Cancer Survivor. I thought it would be cool to recreate her car as closely as possible in model form.
I picked up a Burago 1:18 C5 metal model for almost nothing at a yard sale. I took it completely apart, and I picked up a can of Duplicolor Speedway white and painted it. I painted the interior and underhood parts to match the full size car. I used a very small brush and some pink model paint to apply the pinstripes. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out what to do about the wheels.
My wife enjoys displaying it on a little rotating base at car shows. Everyone seems to get a kick out of it...especially the kids.
Here are some pics of the final product and the full sized car for comparison.
