I finally got around to taking a picture of the rotor on the car with the rim installed.
The caliper is black here but the other 3 are gold colored and this one will be done before final installation

Wow, that is one huge rotor. Must have some serious stoppage power!:D

Awesome! Gotta be able to manage all that power too! Good thinking on the size upgrade.

That looks fantastic! Can't wait to hear how it stops. I love it when functionality and great looks go together.

What kind of rotor is that? I would like to know what kind of wheel combo you are using. I have a 1980 and am looking to upgrade.

Most of it is home grown. I bought rough cast 14 inch rotors from Coleman racing for $512 unmachined. For the hats I made custom 10 inch ones from 2 1/4 x 10 inch chunks of aluminum $100 per chunk.
The wheels are American Racing Torque Thrust 2's with custom offset.
They need 18 inch rims to clear the calipers and they look huge compared to stock.

Man, that does look sweet.

Hey Norval, your name sounds very familiar, you now a Ric Hawley, or Jeef Beech.

No but with the number of students passing through my lab every year they all know me but I don't know them. The average size of the class is about 105 students.
I am at the University of Waterloo/ engineering

Ah, I will have to ask my wife, she went there for Kinesiology.

And she says, Nope.

Oh well, Nice brakes though.

Great lookin brakes. How bad is the dirt and dust factor? Do you use a 4 or 6 piston? Would you do it again given the chance?

I don't know about the dust since the car doesn't come out of the shop until May 1st. I use stock stainless sleeved calipers, they have the large 1 7/8th pistons, they don't leak, the peddle doesn't get spungy and backed by the hydroboost they are really strong. The increased radius will improve my already good brakes.
Do it again? Certainly. I have about $700 in the 2 rotors plus many hours of machining.
I have to make new caliper mounting brackets also. They are at the powdercoaters now and will get them back Monday evening.
I have pickup and delivery right to the shop. MY son runs the powder coating division.
