I don’t know why but I went through a stock pump about every year. I finally decided to go with a racing style of pump . A KRC pump from I believe Sweet or something like that. I got it through Coleman racing. It is a light weight small pump with a large inlet from a remote resovoir and a normal #6 outlet .
It is extremely versatile in that it can be bolted to any aluminum plate and that plate bolted to whatever.
Here is my homemade ½ inch thick plate and 3 standoffs screwed into the block. By adjusting the length of the standoffs I align the pulley.
I have run this pump for 4 or 5 years now. It is about 100 psi more then our pumps and safely can be spun to 9000 rpm. It has a large pulley, a trick looking pulley that looks like titanium but I don’t believe it is.
The pump is very light, small and can be adapted to anything.
The motor still is not cleaned up in the front.

I've been toying with the idea of a remote system on my 76 since its such a PITA to fill and have looked at the stuff the roundy round boys run. How did you plumb it in; does the return from the cylinder go to the resovoir?

Thanks
Craig sr.

I bought a romote tank to go with the pump but didn't like it because the outlet was at the bottom and the tank needed to stand straight up. I got a canister from a air conditioner and using it and the bought oil resovior I cut and welded the 2 together and built this lay down version.
A single large outlet in the bottom of the tank feeds the pump and the pump has a #6 pressure line comming out.
I return the power steering to a port on the tank as well as a return line for the hydorboost.
This is the homemade tank

Nice work, thanks for the tip.! There are supposed to be some models of S10s with remotes and I had an old diesal sububan that had a remote pump. I just haven't pursued it that far yet, the next engine will have one.
