ABS Wheel Sensors 1988

Are the ABS wheel sensors in my 88 built into the wheel Hub??? Can they be cleaned?? If so how??

...i have an 88 also......i really don't remember too well at this time as it has been a while since i replaced bearings/brakes. however, the abs sensors are delicate to some extent........just wipe 'em off and don't mess with them...they are in fact, detachable from the hub.....
