I have changed my heat-ac control unit and am still unable to get the air to pass through the choosen port (ie:vent, defrost). Is there some way to diagnose the problem or an area I should look at? Thanks for the help. Bob.

From what I understand this is a common problem. There is a solonoid that moves a flapper to divert the air between the different exhaust ports. Sounds like there is mechanical problem with this change. Sometimes the "arm" comes disconnected from this diverter "door" or there is a seal problem. Most of the time air will only come out the defrost vents only.

saying that the air only comes thru the floor and the defrost, no matter what button you select?

There is a VERY detailed discussion or two on this here in the archives.
Search the forum and sift thru the hits.
Bound to find it -

Essentialy the vac. lines that control the vents all come thru a central T/junction box of sorts, under the dash on the drivers side.
These get loose or dry rot over the years and must be tightened back up.

fixes it every time. some have been abel to push them back on, others use modified clamps.
