My 64 is getting close to ready for paint and I need to know the following details . . . there are two large phillips head screws in the door next to the latch . . were these painted at the fectory? And the latches for the rear deck and the handle too . . were they painted?

All the phillips-head screws in the rear door facing are painted body color, except the two large ones at the extreme top and bottom that secure the rear glass run channel; those two are black phosphate coated. The latches and handle for the top compartment lid were painted body color.

I can vouch for that, not that Im a midyear expert but Im doing an untouched 63 right now.Friday I disassembled the doors and it appeared the doors where painted with the latch installed but taped up,therefore those screws were painted body color. Also the doors were painted on the car which was evident by looking at the door hinges and the front part of the jamb.

Hey paintdaddy,

Who is in the picture? Is that your wife or daughter?
