Adhesives?

Well, I crawled under my 81 vette over the weekend and noticed that the previous owner, when they replaced the carpeting, failed to put all of the floor drain plugs back in!

So, getting the plugs doesn't seem to be a problem but, I'm struggling to understand if an adhesive is needed to ensure they'll stay put!

Has anyone had to replace their's and if an adhesive is required, what type is it?:confused

I've seen it done 2 ways...using body "dum dum" or a 2 part urethane....if it was me i'd go with the urethane.
