Recently, the headlight door on my 81 will close lower in the front than the surrounding nose area. How can I adjust it so it will be level with the surrounding area? I looked in the shop manual and it gave confusing instructions. Would you please tell me how to adjust it up and how to get to the adjustments. Thanks so much.........
Bill

When you look under the headlight assembly your see the "rocker" that locks the assembly when fully open or fully closed. The rocker also has a bolt on top or under it so you can set the headlight door to the surrounding height.

Greetings Peter

PETER I need more info. Do you get to the bolt from under the car, or with the hood open and door up. headlight bezel removed ???????? Thanks

Put the front of the car on jack stands, and crawl under the nose.
you may have to remove the lower air-dam to gain access to the bolts and adjusters for the headlight doors

Here is a pic of the adjust bolt. Also check that the fiberglass nose panel (just in front of the headlight opening) is secure to the header bar. Very common for the bonding and rivets to come loose causing the headlight door to apear out of adjustment
