HI GUYS! My dash lights are out just ON the speed. and tach, and I was just wondering on how much of the dash I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE OUT.Has anyone out there done this job,if so PLEASE offer some tips before i start dissassembling the thing.By the way,i,m talking an 80-vette.THANKS.

To make it easy, you need to take off the trim plate below the steering column, drop down the column itself. There are 2 screws in the top half that need to be removed then you will see the others on the cluster that have to be removed. The most importain thing is you MUST reach up and push the Speedo cable lock towards the cluster to release it, and then you can pull it out then disconnect the wire loom, and it will be out and able to work on it. I did not care for the lighting on mine so I put in some Cyberdyne digital gages so I can see them at night.

"darkness"

thanks 1-BAD-80,sounds like a lot of work just to change a light bulb;i think i,ll just get used to the dark for a while. good winter project.

It really isnt much work, I can have mine done out and in withen 1/2 hr. It sounds like alot but it really isnt.
