These guys are GREAT. I placed my order, and 6 days later, had my rims & tires in PERFECT condition!! I got 11" (315's) in the rear, and 275's up front in ZR1 replicas... They are gorgeous... I dont have them up on my site yet, but I'd recommend them to anyone... All the way from the customer service, down to shipping, was better than I could have ever expected... Not to mention the quality is awesome!!
I don't have the pictures up on my site yet, but I will shortly, so you can see what they look like.. But, to anyone thinking of getting new wheels, give these guys a shot, you won't be sorry!
Email JJ, at afsinfo@afswheels.com or go towww.afswheels.com

NO, they haven't paid me to advertise, I just believe in giving credit where it's due!!!

Does anyone know why they are so much more expensive than AAA Rims. http://www.aaarims.com ?

It looks like you can get the same OER Chrome ZR-1 Wheel at AAA for around $600 less per set! Anyone have experience with AAA or with both companies? Is one quality that much higher than the other or does one just have a way better price?

-J.

$600 LESS? Wow.. You mean you can get a set of ZR1 Rims , mounted, balanced and shipped for $1,000????? If that's the case, I'm on it!! I found $1600 to be a deal!

You Guys need to be checking out EBAY....AFS sells a bunch on there for less the 1000.00....I have also seen AAA on there as well...

Actually, I didn't do the price comparison with tires included. But, AFS offers Chrome ZR-1 style wheels (4-17"x9.5" +56mm) for $1450.00 on their website and AAA offers what appears to be the exact same set of wheels for $850.00 on their website. I'm not sure what the difference would be with tires, but you could easily compare and find out.

Ahh there's the difference, I didn't get chrome, just the brushed/clear coated aluminum finish, and they are gorgeous. I can't speak for AAA wheels, they might be just as nice, worse, or the same, I dont know ? Good prices though.

Ah, I see! :)

Let us know when you have pics available for us to see. Since it still appears unlikely that I'll be getting the ZR-1 I had my eye on, I'm debating on getting some new wheels for my '89....so I'm keeping an eye out for some good deals.

That is one of my questions...is it better to go with the polished or chrome?

At least polished you can remove the clear coat repolish and coat again...

I'd like to see both polished and chromed in person. From some pictures online, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of difference between 'em.

But you are right, Eagle, it does seem like polished would be much easier to redo in case they got messed up.

Well I am just a stones throw south of Toledo...AAA is within driving distance....would save me the shipping charges....there goes next weeks paycheck....:bu

Well, I put a lot of thought into the two, and decided to go polished, because I didn't think chrome would look right... Too flashy for a Polo Green seemed to be the consensus when I asked around.... I'll post pic as soon as they are up on the site... they are all TAKEN, just not up yet.

I looked into the drive as well. Turns out it's 3 hours from Detroit. But we're both thinkin' the same thing! :)

Hey sleepyhead..I wonder if we went there together if they would make a deal???????

That's usually the way to cut a good deal!! Good thinking!!

Well I would be getting the rims there, I am running Firestone SZ-50's now and love those tires...AAA does not offer them in the combo setup...
I think it is great to be able to jump to 17's and not have to hassle with the speedo gears...plus now I can throw the big brakes up front...

We could definately look into it. But it'll be another month or 2 before I decide for sure if I'm getting new wheels. I'm waiting to see about a possible pay raise or increase in hours at my job. It's sorta doubtful, but if it comes through I'm going to buy the ZR-1 that Edmond was kind enough to check into for me. And if not, I'm definately getting new wheels.

Since I'll most likely be getting the wheels rather than the Z, I'll let ya know and we can check into getting a deal from them. :)

Well the third week in May...on my birthday the state of Indiana sends me my lottery check...then I will be interested in getting the rims....so the timing is about right....I will be checking in with you...

There is enough for a new one but I like something I can work on and not have to pay through the nose for some dealer type with his finger where the sun does not shine, to guess what the problem might be. I have had the 85 for 3 years and never had to take it anywhere. Thanks to this site I have been able to replace and or repair everything myself.
