Well..., seems as if after all this time, my Vette will finally go through the bodywork redo. I'm figuring after that, I'll have an oil drip taken care of that I noticed only after smelling a slight burning oil scent--don't know the source.
I just watched the odom click over to 96,500. Inspite of the oil drip, the Vette still runs strong. So..., I figure while that's being taken care of, I'd like to get
some under-the-hood upgrades that'll bump the horsepower up a notch. Nothing monstrous.
There's already a K&N filter in place. I once had the Hypertech chip and 160* thermstat, but reverted back to stock.
So any thoughts CAC pals as to what I can pruchase?
Thanks a bunch!

What do you have for exhaust? Still stock? Open that baby up. Maybe an air intake? I just purchased the vortex air rammer and am waiting for it in the mail. A few people have it and like it alot.
What exactly are you doing to "revamp" the engine? rebuild or tune up?

Yep. Exhaust is still stock. I've been looking at the Corsa offering--good, smooth sound. Had a tune-up last year. I don't drive the Vette everyday. But since it has developed an oil drip, I figured once it's apart to discover the source, I'd have some other things done. I just don't know what.---YET!

Please do a write up on that Vortex unit because I'm very interested in how that performs over an open lid with K&N.

vee93,

A member here said to start from the back and work up when you're doing modifications. Basically, if you don't crap it out, how can you eat more?:L:L:L Okay, that was a bad example but it was the only one I could think of.

You could do this:

exhaust system from headers back to mufflers.
1.6 roller rockers will get you more lift from the stock cam
maybe even the hot cam? A lot of guys do that and like the results
a higher flowing air intake system
