I replaced the stock fiberglass spring with a 340lb composite kit trying to resolve a sagging driver side problem, after replacing the spring, it still sags like before, I had to turn the spring bolt almost all the way up on the driver side and all the way out on the pass side. I dont like this unequal setup, shouldnt they be the same distance? What might be causing this sag, the one body mount above the muffler is in good shape, dont know what else it could be...

SPRING

Is it just the driver side tht leans or driver rear that leans.
You could have weak springs up front. Even one driver(front)
spring. the rear spring should be tightend equally on both ends.
park the car on a flat surface, then stand 5 to 10 feet away
from the front end, then see if your driver front leans also.
good luck.

Its just the rear drivers side, the front is fine....

I have the same problem, Rear driver side seems to lean. Any ideas??

Thanks.

Sag can come from many things.

You could have a bent or rusty frame.

You could have unequal spring pressure on the front.

It is not uncommon for each side to be adjusted different. In fact, racers will do that when they "scale" the car to produce the ultimate weight distribution.

You can get spacers for the front springs and twist them inbetween the coils. Do this on the opposite side in the front to see if it levels it out in conjunction with resetting the bolts on the rear. If it does, consider replacing the front springs soon.

Oh, the other thing I meant to mention is to make sure you first measure from the bottom of the frame in front of the rear tires, and the front of the frame where the sway bar goes on to the ground. This will give you the dead level of the actual frame. It is possible you have some bad body mounts so that the frame is square, but the car appears uneven because it is sagging on the rubber body mounts.

So...always measure from the frame to the ground first, then from fender lip to the ground.

Thats great input, I plan on getting it on an alignment scale and do some measuring with Mike the mechanic here in Dallas this weekend. He also seems to think it may be a front spring, and the front left wheel seems to be sitting back a little.

Could a degenerative body mount cause the car to lean?
