The turbocat 427 post got me thinking about something I've had at the back of my mind if I ever wrecked my engine.
With the availability of crate engines from GM and other sources as well as some good value high horsepower ready built engines, inluding 383 and even 427 small blocks, has anyone fitted or considered fitting one of these engines to their TT as an alternative to rebuilding their stock engine?
I know you'd have to be REAL careful regarding compression ratio but it seems like an attractive option to me.
Of course to keep the car as a TT you'd have to fit the turbos but I was also wondering, if fitting a real high horsepower small block, could the amount of turbo assistance be reduced (adjust wastegates?) to avoid reliability problems?
Imagine a Twin Turbo 383 or 427 small block that looks "stock" and makes crazy power...!
