What electrical connector do you jump to bring compressor on when charging, thnaks Jim.
 
Not sure if yours is this way but on many GM cars the ecm has to be reset if it was run very low on freon.You may have to put in what ever will go in without it running, then disconnect the battery for about a min. reconnect and start engine, compressor should run.

:upthumbsThis worked for me on the Pontiac Van. The only time the Vette ran low it was cycling on and off so no problem topping it up.
 
Ones I have charged over the years were receptive to the gas introduced and cycled on by themselves. Shouldn't be necessary to jump anything out unless the switch itself is bad. Enough static pressure from the container should suffice.
