Hi,

I was reading Dale B's post about his a/c problems on his 94. Mine has the old 92 with R-12 which I'm told you can't even find anymore. The question I have is, can you reset the computer like on Dales 94 and hopefully the unit will work again? The car has the automatic climate control system. A friend of mine who's a mechanic tells me he can convert the old R-12 system to the R-134 system for about $200 if the compressor is good, but it would be great to not have to spend the $ if not necessary.

Any ideas, comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave, as early as 1990, the computer system got the shut down mode enabled. So, yes, you may very well be able to get your system back running by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting for about 30 seconds or more.

If you have some R12, just use the same procedure to top it off.

I also have a 92 when my comp went out they said it was r12 but when they started the work they it was really 134 gm tech line said they changed mid year maybe you will be lucky. beer
