Air filter for my 85' ?

I'm wondering what i can do to increase the airflow ...i found a K & N o.e. replacement and have seen on here where guys have cut the lid open...any input or maybe a pic would be appreciated.

Hi, you have a couple of options, either cut your lid open, or purchase one at a place like Eckler's, which is what I did, something about cutting a part of my car is a little unnerving, although I have learned to do so in a big way. There part number for you car is: 28788 www.ecklers.com

Actually, I belive I purchased mine through Mid America, they offered a discount if you bought the lid and filter together.
