I have a stock 2003 AE Coupe.

Any suggestions for adding a Power Duct/Airduct/Donaldson/
Z06 Box/Blackwing, etc. that should give me a few more HP?

;help

Go for the blackwing - 15 - 20 minute install and you can feel a bit more in the seat of your pants over the stock setup.

I installed the Z06 airbox lid on my 03. The Z06 air intake opening is considerably larger than on the LS-1 lid. As far as performance if it added any horsepower it is not "seat of the pants" noticable. But I can't believe the LS-1 could breathe through the stock lid... My John Deere lawn tractor has a bigger intake opening!!:(

I have a Blackwing and like it.....b4 I had a K&N in stock housing and then with a modified lid.......Blackwing works best......my .02

Donaldson here. Had it the last four years and really like it a lot. BTW, Donaldson is the manufacturers name for the "Blackwing". It's the same filter. :D

Here are a few suggestions. Do you just want air flow or looks too?

For improved airflow remove stock lid and either drill a bunch of large holes in it with a hole saw or cut most of the centre away. Install a K&N or Green filter.

For flow and looks they're are plenty of options for you such as aftermarket bridges, smooth couplers and as you already a slew of filters.I would the Blackwing only as a last resort because they're ugly.

Which ever you decide you should see an increase in SOP performance and better flow.

I'm going with one of Halltech's beautiful Carbon Fibre bridges in candy Pomagranite (looks close to Mag.Red) with a smooth black coupler and a chrome twinflow filter setups with Green Filters (they are suppose to flow more then K&Ns.

Have fun and good luck,
Morgan

I just ordered a Vararam kit. Once I get it installed I will report back and do a product review. The performance data looks promising. The down side is the risk of taking water in the intakes and having a hydrolock condition.
