Alarm LED

Good question. I miss being able to look at my flashing red light to assure myself that I locked the doors.

What if you set the security function on the radio??? I know from my Tahoe that the red light flashes when I'd lock the truck and the alarm was set.

Maybe it's just me, but I've only ever seen a little red LED light used in after-market car alarms. The factory system uses a solid "Security" light on the dash when you lock the doors with the key fob or the key.

Both my Chrysler 300M and my F-150 had a nice big LED in a red plastic dome/cap on top of the dash itself. Easily visible when approaching the vehicle.

I ended up setting up the lock on my radio. When you lock your car it sets an LED. Nice and easy!

The L.E.D. flashes on my radio even when my car is unlocked. It doesn't indicate that you car is locked and your alarm is armed.

accordng to my owners manual p3-27 when THEFTLOCK is activated the radio will display LOC anytime battery power has been interrupted.is battery power cut off when the alarm is set? i never used this feature
:confused

Battery power is not cut off to the radio when the car is shut off or the alarm is set. The red L.E.D. in the radio means that theftlock is activated and that interrupting power to the radio means you will have to enter the correct password to activate the radio. It is not tied into the alarm. It is meant to deter theft of the radio.

Thats right its a anti theft feature for the radio. The only reason I like it though is there is no LED for the alarm. The Radio LED flash and works as a deterrent for the whole car not just the radio. All I really wanted was any LED to flash in the car to indicate an alarm. This works perfectly for that even though it's only for the radio. No one else knows that exept us.
