I have the paper clip ready to use to short A and B to get any codes displayed. But - the paper I wrote on that described A and B is now illegible. I can read UPPER but can't determine if the next word is LEFT or RIGHT.
I wanna see what codes are there because the car has suddenly started running rough and surges when held with the brakes at stoplights, etc. If I punch it it seems to move out allright. I've had no recent work done, just filled it with Hess Premium - I've had slight roughness with Hess before and changed to Exxon but recently changed back because Hess doesn't use arab oil. If I hadn't just topped it off I'd just run it down some and refill with Exxon.

Help
Help.

Thank you Rabbit - that's exactly what I needed.
Now I'll size and print it and tape it right on the ALDL dust cover - which I actually still have :)

Bah! No matter what I did I could not get the ^%$&& paper clip to actually stay in the ^%$% ALDL. So I broke down and bought an el cheapo "code reader - $30 (for a switch!!)", but at least it did insert OK and show me a bucketfull of 12's. No codes. I'll stick with my first guess of a load of bad gas. I've topped it off (1/3 tank) with good Exxon Premium, it seems slightly better but still rough and surgy when stopped at a light with brake on. I'm gonna keep driving and topping off with Exxon/Shell and see what happens.
