I was at a social event the other night when I found myself among some corvette owners. One of the gentlemen said that he was getting his car out and he had to get it aligned. It was of a 75' vintage and he said that he had to get it completely aligned front and rear. When asked if he meant both the front and rear axles he said yes. He said every spring he has got a complete alignment (front and rear) to get the most out of his tires. I have heard of aligning the front axle but never the rear. Is the rear axle capable of being aligned ? Has anyone ever heard of this ? This is new to me !!!!!! Or maybe this owner had to much octane.

Toe in and camber can be adjusted, the toe in adjustment is done using shims where the trailing arm attaches to the chassis. camber is altered using a cam bolt.

Absolutely get a 4 wheel alignment on any Corvette after 1962. The rear toe and camber are just as important as the front. I had a 4 wheel alignment done once a year on my 69, 99 and now my 13 GS.

Has anyone ever heard of this? This is new to me!...

A complete alignment includes both ends of the car. For C3s, the front is aligned, then the rear. The Corvette has an independent rear suspension system. It, too, periodically requires alignment.

I believe there is a blurb in your owner's manual about alignment.

Corvettes from '63 to '13 (C2-C6) require a four-wheel alignment. Camber, caster, toe in the front and camber and toe in the rear
Corvettes from '14-'15 (the C7) requires a four-wheel alignments with the addition of caster in the rear.
