Well as some of you know I have a set of mufflers on my car that I hate. They are called hush tones made by flow masters. They make the car sound like a 50's lead sled, (a good sound for that type of a car but not what I wanted for the 62)
So I figured I would install the chambered exchaust mufflers like the ones in my 66 side exhaust pipes. I wanted the rumble of a big block but with a muscle car sound and not loud.
I was told by some members that the allens replacement mufflers are nice at idle.but real loud when you give it any gas. Another fellow had told me allens now has smaller Id mufflers that sound more like the original mufflers. I called allens and they said YES they can make mufflers with a smaller id that sound like the original as long as I am able to keep the same length.
Any body useing the smaller ID mufflers? do they sound as the original style?
