Final Lap, GT Class, Laguna Seca, 10 Oct 09

So I'm late with this but just watched the last lap between Burgmeister and the Vette.
Vette "tapped" the 911, did not cause terminal instability in the 911, Vette starts passing to 911's left, 911 proceeds straight and to left reducing clearance of Vette to the wall until the is no clearance, Vette loses stability, 911 slows to clear sliding Vette and continues on, Vette slides across track into opposite wall - heavy crash, potentially life threatening to driver, terminal damage to Vette.

My opinion: Vette driver should have avoided contact, maybe not possible with the greater momentum as he approached. Contact did not cause uncontrollable instability of 911. 911 driver executes unwarranted movement against Vette progress, removing all car-to-wall clearance and CAUSING the crash, therefore, disqualify Bergmeister 911 driver for causing this crash.

Everyones observations should now be submitted, then forwarded to ALMS.

Thank you CAC for posting this submission.
