Alternator relocation

My current setup is on the driverside can`t get to the power steering because it sets so close. I have checked on suppossed factory brackets for my big block 454 but it

That's just the way BBs are. You have to be a sort of contortionist with your wrist but you can get the top off. Dont' try it with the engine warm, though.

THANKS BUT THERES GOTTA BE A WAY
 
You may have an incorrect-configuration replacement P/S pump; the Corvette pump had a uniquely-shaped reservoir, and even with the original pump it was a tight squeeze to get the cap off (the small-blocks were worse).
