AMG = American Mercedes Group. They used to be an independent after market Mercedes modifer. Some time ago they were purchased by Mercedes and are now part of the company. AMG produces high performance models of the Mercedes line An example of their work would be an SL500 vs an S 55. Changes include engine mods, Aero package and wheels. Hope this helps

I live in Germany- home of the heavy mod Mercedes'. The AMG models are VERY popular here. Still not as cool as the Vettes though.

AMG reminds me of the Saleen cars- but with a typical German understated look. Gills, grills, and mags. No funky spoilers or nice rocket wings.

AMGs in past years had, not only AMG initials on the rump, but the word Hammer! Very fast cars, that usually use the larger engines in the smaller cars. Not only do they upgrade the engine's power but always upgrade suspension as well. Probably the premium peformance luxury car in the world!
