Another Astro Vent ?

Welll I finally have a set of Astro Vent doors that I think is working correctly. I guess the previous owner must have disconnected everything and hoped it would make the car run better.
This is what I know about how MY Astro Vent works. Let me know if this is correct.
With the car running,
1. All the heat and vent controls off the doors are opened.
2. Vent controls closed the doors are opened.
3. With the rotary hear, de-ice, de-fog switch in any position the doors are opened.
4. When you select any temp/heat setting the door goes closed.

I hope this is correct because none of it has worked correctly since I have had the car. Let me know if any of you guys works the same way or if it is not working correctly.

I am not an expert as not of my cars have the Astrovent system but I always thought that they were only open when the rotary control was set to "Vent". You set it to Vent and they opened for the flow through air. On heat they were closed to keep the heat in the car. With the controls off, they would be closed.

As I said, Im no expert, but that was my understanding of how they worked but I could be totaly wrong.
