<TABLE width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top>Well my worst fear has been comfirmed. Took some long needle nose 30 degree pliers and I can push and pull on that tab inside the bell housing freely. What ever its attached to is brooken. I guess the throw out bearing. So there was nothing wrong with the slave or the master cylinder at all. The slave cylinder fully extended was never going to reach it anyway. Its broke and pushed all the way back. I guess this means I'm going to have to drop the transmission to get inside the bell housing. Has anybody on this forum had the same problem and fixed it. And am I looking at another big job. If I'm going to do all that, then I might as well just buy a spec stage 1 or 2 clutch kit and replace it.

sorry to here about the clutch . contact bill boudreau zf doc. he did a great job on my trannies and clutch .he also has any of the small parts you may need . does the wife know yet ? might be another big hug nite groveling ?.. not sure how your cash flow is .i do have a clutch bellhousing and flywheel that are iin excellent shape . i would donate in the cause of family happyness . you have worked so hard on that car be more than happy to give you the parts . pm me if you need them. you dont need a after market clutch until you go to a stroker . even those guys use the stk clutch without issues .

Hey brad, I appreciate that. My flywheel is in good shape. I've read that the clutches on these cars are only good for 50,000 before its time to replace them. The car just turned 73,000 so its more than served its purpose so its time. So its sitting in the garage on four jack stands awaiting surgery. I'll fix her. I always do. I'll have to start saving my pennies though. I'm looking at about $425.00 for a clutch kit.

well ok , just remember if you need any small parts id the pivot ball. ,clutch fork, just let me know and i "ll get em to ya .

if after you have cked the flywheel and have found it is indeed oncave let me know and i will send you the one off my spare motor that only has 20 k an her . i have cked it and ots perfect still . oh yeah it will be my gift to you to save you some cash to take your bride to dinner :D

If you are still having problems take the car to Corry Henderson in New Brawnfules (sp) near San Antonio. I realize this is a bit of a haul for you but corry is one of the best

I fixed it 2 months ago. My throw out bearing snapped in two. Check out the thread "Here are pictures of the clutch job" Corey is great. Iv'e been out there twice. When people that are interested in buying a ZR-1 ask me how they are to own I tell them if your not willing to work on them, Don't buy one. Because you will be working on it.
