Hi, new to for forum. I purchased my 95 coupe about 2 years ago. The guy who sold it to me did not have either of the FOBs (I assume the car came with 2 when new). I bought one FOB last year and programmed it no problem. I just purchased a second one from a 96 (Used) but can't get to programmed. My question is, the car can remember up to 3 fobs, if it has three in it's system already, does it simply drop one? I have checked the fob battery, it's OK. I used the same steps as I did with the last fob, I am thinking I may have a bad FOB. Can the Dealer tell me if it is working? Sorry for being long-winded.

Hi! and welcome to the :CAC !!

I'm afraid I can't answer your questions regarding your key fob but I wanted to say hello and invite you to introduce yourself and your C4 in the New Member Introductions Forum.

Good luck with your fob issue.

additional infoI have the 95 FSM & can scan the PKE info if you like. My e-mail is lsylvestri@sbcglobal.net.

On the FOB you just bought there is a small ball in the fob that rolls around when the fob is moved. It's a motion sensor. I would shake the new fob to determine if the little pellet is free.
The system will accept 3 fob's. When the programming is initiated the PKE light will flash once, repeatedly, until the first fob is brought into range. After that fob is programmed the lamp (PKE) will remanin "on" continously until the fob is moved out of range & a second fob is brought into range. It will then flash twice, etc.

Each fob transmitter has it's own Vehicle access code. Changing the battery in the fob will not change the code. Apparently each fob has an individual code different from the rest.

Go to the the search function, use PKE & you will find a lot of info there.

Rabbit,
Thanks, good info. I took the remote to our local Chevy dealer today and they put it in their test machine and said they are not getting any signal from it at all. Looks like I have a faulty one, now have to see about getting my $$ back :ugh
