Is it just me or is the green antifreeze getting hard to find? I went to Walmart and all they had was dexcool, and that new yellow stuff that is good for all kinds of mixes... Is the green stuff going to be faded out or something?

No, it ain't just you. I've seen the same thing beginning this summer. SOS at all local Wallyworld and local parts houses. My buddy at Bumper-to-Bumper says green stuff is going away ... much to my dismay!

So does that mean that the yellow stuff can be added to the green?

I guess I will have to stock up. I wonder why they are getting rid of it. It has worked so well for so long, its weird....:(

Buy me some while you are at it :L

I don't KNOW the reason but I SPECULATE something like this: All car makers require extended life coolants from their suppliers ... why would a supplier sustain the costs of manufacturing a type (green) that is no longer required ... when the newer types can be used in older cars? I dunno if the newer yellow can be mixed with old green ... but I do know that you must not mix DexCool formulae with old green. Also, I don't KNOW that old green stuff is going away ... only that I was told so by a friend who's a local parts house franchise owner-manager.
