Has anyone found C-6s under MSRP, anywhere? :w

Selling at invoice

I spoke to Flow Chevrolet in Winston-Salem, NC last night. They told me they are expecting to sell at invoice, but they will be meeting to decide if a small premium ($500 to $1000) over invoice would be appropriate. They said that they have rarely sold a car over invoice.

The biggies (Maxie Price, et. al.) seem to be at MSRP, as is Connell Chevy in Costa Mesa, CA. I know the car is just out but have no idea about how it is selling outside of this room. The economy seems shaky to me, and there are incentives all over the new car market.

Just looking for a crack in the pricing dam, is all. Mike

Just looking at recent history, I believe MSRP is a good deal. Most C5s sold for about that throughout their run. Though as demand increases and dealers start to get the C6s on their lots, I believe you'll see a markup. Even last year I saw C5s with a dealer markup at some locations. Just my 2 cents.

There were posts on various forums earlier this year that some dealers were slightly discounting the cars. I think it was in the $1000-1500 range. Seach the archives.

Prices always vary dramatically nationwide, and if you are not opposed to researching dealers and travelling to get a car, you can get some surprising deals.

"Seach the archives"

I did search the archives. Did you find something I could not?

Rydell in the San Fernando Valley should be selling theirs for several hundred off MSRP. I dont work their, but thats the way they do it. Their chevy stores are in Van Nuys and Northridge.

Yeah, but what's Rydell's allocation??? If he's only allocated 5 Vettes for the year, you may be waiting until 2006 to get yours. Speed vs price...that is the question.

Try Rick "Corvette" Conti. He had a deal for 1,500 under MSRP. There was a deadline but he may still do it. He's at Spitzer Chevrolet in Ohio.

Rick may well have been one of them.

If there's nothing here, try the CF archives. Sorry, I can't tell you what section, but there have been posts (not necessarily initial/titled posts) on the subject.

If I see anything current while surfing, I'll link it here.

well, I can find out for sure if you want, but Rydell is the one of the largest vette sellers in So Cal. So its probably alot. Their inventory manager has been ordering more and more C5's when other dealers dont want them so they sell them cheap, thus increasing their allocation of C6's

e-mailed Rydel; got no reply.

Thanks guys. I am looking.

Rydell is a corporate dealer...lowest prices, quick turnaround, drives the regular dealers crazy...but it keeps the others honest...approx. $9000 more for a convertible and then $2000 for a power roof????
Please, the profit margin is there.... :upthumbs

HOT OFF THE PRESS!!!!!
Less than 5 minutes ago, Paul Bozant had a meeting with Bill Hood who just authorized this unbelievable C6 pricing. This offer is an exclusive offer for members of the Corvette Club and their referals. NSCC members can order a new 2005 Corvette for just $1000 over factory invoice cost. NOT MSRP. You will need to act fast because supplies are limited.
Call Raymond Estalote @ 985-892-4663 to get your order in as soon as possible.

Not too bad if true. But that is the same dealer who was marking up '97's $ 5000.00 and he was selling them ! Any dealer who marks up like that is permanently off my list. I have never paid over list and I never will.

About two weeks ago, he offered me the $1500 under, but there was a caveat of 'subject to change', which put me off. Plus, I am not sure the C-6 is selling as well as expected, what with the discounts at some dealers and the ad for the car. Chevy has not done a Corvette ad for a long time. Items that have so much press hoopla at launch and that are selling, well hardly justify the expense of an ad campaign.

With my concerns about the economy, I am in a hold. Besides, I want the Z06, as a minimum. I had a near-miss with a dealer who offered me a Pace Car, in addition to the Silver Anniversary I had ordered. He signed a deal with a guy I referred to him, then tried to jack the price way up in the pre-Indy days. ( The WSJ was saying the car would bring $75k.) Yeah, right! A lawsuit settled that car deal.

Chevrolet always seems to do ads for the Corvette when they come out. They had TV ads for the '97 and '84 model years, even though both were flying off the lots faster than they could make them.

I think the reasoning is it gets people in the showrooms to look at the Corvette... in hopes that they will buy something else. Chevrolet admits that they 'need' the Corvette, because there is a little bit of Corvette in every Chevrolet. Basically, they sell people Cavaliers because they see a bit of Corvette in it:)

If he were charging 5K over when 97's we introduced, then it's biting him in the butt now and so be it. I didn't know that.

I've never paid MSRP (forget over!!!) and never will. The same frustration is with the Harley Dealers! By the time you add the "over MSRP" prices, may as well buy a full custom American bike and that's just what I did.
