There's a 383 that I'd sure like someone to look over if you had time. It is still in the car running. . I think the guy is a straight shooter, but sure would be nice to get someone to eyeball it for some piece of ming before I make the plunge

Moonunit, sorry I'm not close enough to help you, and apparently nobody else is either. You could try hotrodders.com. They have a message board and a large contingent from ohio. Extremely knowledgeable and good people...kind of like here. Hey, it's worth a shot.

Thanks DkBG! Ya I'm serious, this guy still has the motor in his car. He wants to sell it locally, but no bites so far. I'm gonna try Gmans idea on the other forum and see if I get any bites. WOW! Maybe my patience might actually pay off. I am having some real computer problems here Eagle, not virus stuff, so I'm a little slow on my communications. You know I've been on this engine thing for a couple mos., and I appreciate the input you have provided. I've just been hangin' loose and keepin' my eyes open. If this guy is for real, and everything looks good, this would be a nice set up I think.

I'm gonna drop him an e-mail right now and see if he's all set. I'll send you an e-mail with the details as soon as I know anything. It may be tomorrow. I couldn't feel more fortunate than to have one of those on this forum who are such great contributors to offer assistance. If you end up heading that way, I'd be more than happy to send you $'s for gas and a nice supply of your favorite beverage or a dinner

I just saw this thread. I was through Lima a couple hours ago. I get down that way fairly often but it's usually around midnight. Your engine guy might not like my hours.

Is this engine for sale by a private owner or a builder? I lived down there for awhile around 20 years ago (worked in the Chevy store) and knew some local racers, engine builders and Corvette people. Maybe I would recognize the name.

You know, we are letting those Georgia members out do us. They are getting together regularly and having a good time. There are a bunch of us in the NW Ohio area and we should plan a get together this fall sometime.

Tom thanks for the offer, I may have been having trouble getting to Ray somehow. Could you guys e-mail me so I can find out if there's a problem please.

It looks promising to get someone to take a look, I'm just afraid all these virus's and worms and stuff are mucking up communications. I finally got my laptop back last night, lost the whole HD. I've got it up and running, working on getting things set back up. I have redundancies for getting and sending mail on other comouters that seem to be working reliably but still configuring the laptop which of course was and is my main computer.

I gotta tell Brandan something or he's gonna start to think I'm a flake Thanks guys

Just got back from Lima....saw motor...knew you would not want it so I bought it myself....:L

It looks good, sounds good, runs good. Clean as a whistle. Does not burn any oil, valve covers leak ever so little. You will want the intake, it is from TPIS and looks good on it as well as functional.
If nothing else you could sell it to get some cash back. The headers look great but you can't use them, but it could be another item for sale. All in all it looks like a good buy.

I hope you had a great day for a cruise in your baby, now I feell like mine may get back on the road before it starts to rain for like 8 mos straight and salvage a little summer fun in my favorite past time
