Any stock modifactions that can be done?

I will be getting my first corvette very soon but after buying it will not have the money to buy any new performace parts for the car for maybe a few months so i was wondering if there was anything i could tweak on the stock car to give it a little extra performace?

Let someone else buy the mods for you, i.e., buy one already modded as you like. It's W W A A A A A Y Y Y Y Y cheaper! (unless it's been abused). Again, carefully research for mods that deliver, not just promise.

Cut a bigger hole in your air filter cover. This way more air will get to your intake. Then when you have a extra $200 just get a blackwing and ditch the entire stock filter all together. Just do a search on this forum, I'm sure someone posted directions for cutting your air filter lid.

Pick up a K&N Filter along with cutting a hole in your stock air box. One of the best mods is anything dealing with air flow. Intake or exhaust side. Both preferably. A good Place to start and not too expensive.

Another choice...

If you are getting a LS-1 watch E-bay for a LS-6 / Z06 airbox lid instead of cutting up your lid. The air intake opening on the Z06 lid is huge compared to the LS-1's opening. It is a quick five minute changeout and still looks totally stock... Cost should be around $40 or so...

or swap out the stock air-lid with the one used on 2002 and newer Z06
