Anyone ever have to repair the plenum panel screen

The corvette service manual identifies the plastic panel that is under the wipers as the plenum panel screen. There is a rubber weatherstrip attached to the windshield side edge and covers the bottom edge of the windshield.
The rubber trim/weatherstrip is attached to the plastic plenum panel with a thin tape on the underside. The tape on my 1997 vette has lost it's holding power in a few places and the rubber trim no longer is attached to the panel at all places along it's length. Some parts of it are slipping off of the edge of the windshield.

I noticed that on the C6 GM made the panel screen and the trim edge for the bottom of the windshield a one piece plastic item.
I wonder though does the two piece panel/trim on the C5 help faciltate the replacement of the windshield. Would the one piece trim/panel on the C6 make that more difficult?

Is there a thin adhesive tape available that I can get to reattach this trim? Or does one have to buy an entire new plenum panel screen?

I did it 3-4 months ago. Still holding perfectly. I used good tape on the underside. It was not thin and worked as a charm. I do not think you need to replace it. Just clean and put new tape.

What kind of tape? Where did you get it? Is it a 3M product?

I use the clear vinyl we put to protect the number & number plate on our motocross bike. It is made by N-Style.

Or you can go to any bike shop and ask for it. But I would say that you can use any good tape and I’m sure 3M has some.
