I am, looking at a 72 in Hearne, TX was wondering if anyone close by could swing by and take a look at it for me?

pappy...hearne's a good 3.5 to 4 hrs from San Antonio.... See if you can get someone closer. If not, and you're serious about the car, I'll see if I can get up there.

Pappy, I'm in Tyler TX. It is 2+ hours away. What year is the car? I may have seen it passing thru. I saw a C-3 for sale several months ago but was in a hurry and did not stop. If I am in the area I will check it out. I will not be in the around for several weeks right now...Sorry, Fred.

I remember a Red '72 from Hearne TX on ebay a little while back. Thought it was not too bad of a deal as the seller at that time was saying that if you were high bidder and if you did not like the car once you saw it then you were under no obligation to buy it. Wonder if this is the same car? If so, apparently the pervious high bidder did not take it so it has been placed with a consignment company. But a disclaimer, I do not know if this is the same car.

Sorry but no way I could get there before the auction closes.

I think you're going to have a hard time finding anyone in that area. But I can tell you a couple of things about that car just from looking at the photos...

They claim the engine is numbers matching. While that may be the case, the whole top end of the engine -- distributor, carb, intake manifold, air filter, valve covers -- are not original. Also, the car has a big block hood that is incorrect for the car.

Not only that, but the price is starting to get high...especially if you have to ship the car back to NY!
