was wondering how many people have a trip meter that will not reset? if the numbers are racking up as you drive,,but you can not reset to 0000 i can help you get it going again.....this cable reset was used from 1963 to 1977 carl

Mine didn't work until I squirted it with WD40. I put a blanket on the floor to protect it then used the red straw on a can of $D40 and flooded up the stem. I also removed the black plastic cap, it tends to strip inside so when you push up and you must push up on the stem/cap and then turn the knob. I made a solid brass one and pressed it onto the shaft.
Between the WD40 and the cap mine works perfectly.

Cool...I'll have to try that. Mine is frozen tight. Can't push it in to reset at all.
