Anyone intersted in a warranty for their B2k?

Ive been talking to a company that warrants exotic cars and such. We can get powertrain warranties for our B2ks ranging from 2-6 yrs in length and deductables from $50-200. That very helpful to have should your car decide to put a rod thru the side of the block....AND....it covers turbo failures as well. Tranny, rearend...the works, obviously it doesn't cover the clutch or brakes.

Surf - Would they really offer a warranty for a 15 y/o car?? While I like the prospect, I am a bit skeptical - Looking forward to more info on this

Tell them truthfully that a B2k rebuild is $20k ++ and see if they stick to that policy... I'm sure they're somewhat familiar with Lambo and Ferrari serviceability issues... so just be careful and read the fine print. There may be a lot of exclusions.

I'll continue to gather more info, but as of right now it looks like everything is a go! I didn't bring up the cost of the motor rebuild yet but I will.

I just ran the numbers on a 01 Ferrari 360 and the 2 yr figure came in around $4k...and thats bumper to bumper!!! Im sure a Ferrari motor makes a Callaway short block look cheap.

Well Chris, you were right. I called back today and asked about the cost of a motor rebuild. The woman I talked to had been there a while and said the gentleman I spoke with the other day was new. :eyerole: Kind of an expensive mistake to make when someone is considering a big purchase like that. It looks like our cost will be a 4000/yr!!!! I guess I won't be buying one of these.

She said the largest claim to date was a Lambo at $12k.
