Looking at some headers that fit a 283/327....will those also fit a 350? My block in my '60 is a 350 stroked to 383....the price is reasonable....let me know what you think...

thanks

If the hedders fit a 283/327, the will fit all small block Chevy's. 265, 283, 305, 307, 327, 350, 383, 400, they were all based on the same external dimensioned small block.

OldChev is correct. SBC 265-400 all the same. You may have smaller primary tubes (1 5/8"), but that is actually pretty good for low end torque on street cars.

If you are building a racer, you may want fatter tubes (1 7/8").. :)

Some aftermarket heads have different exh. port design and all headers will not work. While it will bolt on no problem, trying to get a round header port to seal on a square head port is almost impossible. I have Dart heads and ran into this problem. I would guess it wouldn't be that efficient either. Late model aluminum heads have D shaped exhaust ports also.

Factory head-wise all headers are the same.

To the best of my knowledge the heads that I have are stock.....nothing special about them...when the motor was rebuilt the heads were rebuilt with all new pieces but that was about it. The engine builder put a mild cam in it to go along with the 383 stroke and it will have an Edelbrock manifold along with a Holly 750 double pumper feeding it. The headers I found will be around $75 or so...I figure the worse that could happen is it would be a $75 mistake....I figure I will make a lot fo $75 mistakes on the car...just trying to minimize the number of them....motor was originally out of an early 70's Camaro according to the block numbers....

thanks for everyones comments...I will let you all know if I can still get them....

regards, Herb
