Anyone know of a track in NY near NYC?

I'm looking to take the car somewhere to see what she can do and I believe that the tracks my father remembers don't exist anymore.

First of all, what type of track are you looking for? Ill assume you mean, drag strip. Theres got to be at least one on Long Island, Theres Lebenon Valley up near Albany, Then theres Englishtown NJ, Ive raced at both of the latter tracks and they both are great places !!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I should have specified what type of track. Yes I am interested in a drag strip, preferrably 1/4 mile.

Closest track is Raceway Park in Englishtown New Jersey. Its about 20 minutes from Staten Island.

they allow anyone to get on the track? do u know how much it costs?

Anyone who's car passes tech inspection, and has 30 bucks. You need a helmet, you can rent one at the track if you get there early enough, but you should bring your own. Any motorcycle helmet will do.

The tech inspection is very "light". If you drove your car there and its not leaking anything or smoking you will pass. You need working stock seat belts.

Open competition days are the best. You can go as many times as you want, or until you break something.

theres also a track out in riverhead long island. its less "sanctioned" than englishtown. what i mean is the nhra does not make a stop there and the atmosphere is more laid back. its a helluva lot less busy and it probably has more test n tune nights. its a drive but who the hell wants to go to joysey anyway.
