Thinking about something a little more aggressive than Hotcam and wonder if this is a good choice. I want the car to still be a good economical highway cruiser, running 4.10 rear end.

Has anyone tried this cam in an LT4 or other 350 engine??

Cam choices

I'd be interested in what you find on this ? I was thinking of the hot cam, but I noticed this one is lower on lift than the Hot cam. I am thinking of the crane cam, 109831 which is 509/528 with 1.5 rockers. With 1.6s of the LT4 it is 542/563 284/292 duration (advertised) and is around where I want to be with the camshaft for me. Power range is from 2500 thru 6000. My issues are this, I can make some other mods, but none I want to be invasive for the time being. I love the car, and I want to be able to drive it and enjoy it while keeping it low miles. (25,000 right now). But I was thinking of a 52-58mm throttle body, maybe some shorty headers (I have an x-pipe and corsas already), and then i have to figure out what in the hell to do with the ECM tuning. We have some dyno shops, but I'd love to find one that knew about LT4s greatly. When you compare our setup to earlier and later engines, there really is less you can do to these and keep them in 'relative stock' condition for a later sale of the car if you were to do that. I want to keep my mods to where I can always revert it to stock if I had too without to much trouble. But I will be watching this thread. Best of luck on this thread. Ken :_rock

If you are looking at lift figures for the 503 cam as .503/.510 this is with 1.5 rockers. I am going with 1.6 rockers so the lift will be .536/.544 which is greater than the hot cam's .525/.525.

I am hoping the tuning for this cam will not be a problem. PCMforless says he has done several and expects to "nail" it the first time. Maybe a little touchup after a dyno run.

I am still a couple weeks away from finish. The heads are being worked on but won't be ready until at least 4/16.

Cam selection

Good call on the rockers and this makes this cam a lot more attractive to me. So I think it's great as far as a selection. Do you have any information on PCMforless ? Where can they be contacted? I have quite a few questions on that, I'm not thrilled at all with the performance gains I see with the hypertech unit.

Thanks again. Ken

If you are running stock, there isn't a lot to be gained by just tuning. GM did a pretty good job on the LT4. Hypertech claims about 10hp and from what I know there is not a lot more to be had while stock.

For modded engines you need a custom programmer, not Hypertech.

Welcome to CAC bring it to Cruise-Fest 2004 and put it on the Dyno.
where is Hinckley? I am in North West Ohio
