Know I saw a few posts of this since I joined back in March. But couldnt find them via keyword searches.
Sorry..
So,
anyone using the retail drain kits, or did you just drill a small hole and keep it clean?

Was working on the vette the other day and noticed the driver's side was nearly full. Pass was dry.

When I first got my vette it was outside most of the time. Noticed the hood latch wells were filling with water. I drilled a 3/16" hole in each of them. I believe the driver's side, from what I remember has a few electrical goodies which I had to glue a small piece of rubber to divert any water that might find it's way over them form the drain hole. This worked and although I no longer drive in the rain, while the car was still parked outside I never did have that water problem again. Just wondered why they never did the drain's at the factory. Overlooked I guess!:beer

Rain,
If you buy the drain kit, MAKE SURE the tips that hug the body ARE NOT METAL!!! I've seen them rust or get funky-looking, just like a regular drain-it's a source for mold, dead bugs, etc... If they are metal, use a sealant (like that weatherstripping gunk), around the body. And although I'm sure this doesn't need saying, I will anyway-why take something for granted-be careful where you drill.

the hood mount area you can just drill... you may want to put in a tube or other diverter on the drivers side so the water drains around the battery.

the hatch area buy the kit... the kit is not that expensive to justify trying to find the parts yourself.
