Google Top Tier fuel and see if they are on the list, last time I checked they were not.

Costco fuel is Top Tier now and is about $.30 a gallon cheaper in my area in both 87 and 92 octane. :)

ARCO made the list:
76 Stations
ARCO
BP
Chevron
Conoco
Costco Wholesale
CountryMark
Entec Stations
Express Convenience Centers
Exxon
Hawaii Fueling Network (HFN)
Holiday Stationstores
Kwik Trip / Kwik Star
MFA Oil Co.
Mobil
Ohana Fuels
Phillips 66
Quik Trip
Road Ranger
Scheirl Oil
Shell
SuperAmerica
Texaco
Tri-Par Oil Co.
Top Tier Gasoline

The caveat is to be on the list; in addition to more detergents top tier gasoline must contain no less than 8% and no more than 10% ethanol.

comeon guys, todays post one sez ARCO HAS TOPTIER and one sez they don't, where can I find out the current info ??

I know it is poor taste to quote oneself, but click on the large, bold, underlined red text.

Top Tier is a marketing scheme promoted by the manufacturers and refiners, not a product or additive.

I prefer to buy cars from OEMs that don't need fancy-a*s gasoline to run properly.

I clicked on the "red writing" as you said and it went back to list of toptier gas sellers, just to clarify are you absolutely sure arco gas has the toptier additive??? thanx again;)

It is detergents and the reason is the EPA.

"Since the minimum additive performance standards were first established by EPA in 1995, most gasoline marketers have actually reduced the concentration level of detergent additive in their gasoline by up to 50%."

In other words, the dumb butt EPA bureaucrats cut the amount of detergents in gas. As a result it gummed up injectors, left deposits on intake valves, and more. The manufacturers noticed they were paying for the EPA's stupidity instead of making a profit on every warranty or extended warranty they sold.

I have a lot of $$ and sweat invested in my engine so why not use gasoline which keeps it cleaner?
