First let me re-introduce myself, I have not posted in a while mostly lurked. Name is Rey Casanova I just moved to Austin, Texas, own a 79 Corvette. I work at UT in the College Communication. I have had my vette for about 5 years now and have driven it everywhere. Well with that come the problems. Right now I am having problems with the drivers side door. It’s sagging. I would usually always just work on these things myself, but living in an apartment and having no time I need someone to work on it for me.

Austin CAC members, I need your help. Being new to Austin I do not know of any shops that have a good rep when working with vettes. As we all know these cars need special attention. Anyhow, I need my drivers side door hinge pins replaced. I have the pins, but don’t really want to mess with taking the door off and everything else involved with the job. Anyhow looking for a shop that could do that in Austin and an all around Vette shop for later. Thanks

Rey

One of the best is Austin Corvette on N Lamar. I have never used them myself (try to do it all by myself) but have heard nothing but great complements on their work. But I do understand that they are not cheap.

Take the short drive down to San Antonio and look at Performance Resorations. I just had my 73 down there and it looks and drives great. They are a reader recommended shop in Corvette Fever and do work on vetts from all over the US and even Canada. The number is 210-599-8377 ask for Gary he is the owner. Tell him Tim McElheney refered you and he will take care of you will be please. They are on the north side of SA and only about a 50 min drive from Austin. I take mine all the way from Dallas to get my work done if that tell you anything about their work. I have pictures of some of the work they did for me if you want to see them.
