Corvette
1994 - C4
Just joined initially to get some tech info but wanted to say G'day. After hearing my father talk about the "American Sports Car" often during my youth, I got my first chance to ride in a Corvette in 1996 thanks to an Airforce guy in Ohio. I was a 1995 C4 as at the time was very impressive. Ever since I promised myself that I would own one at some stage in the USA (I have lived here pretty much since 1996) and that I would take it home as a gift for my Dad. I am not one to buy myself toys and recently set out to my an economical 4 cyl car, I even made an offer on a 2003 Hyundai excel. One thing led to another and I started to look at Corvettes on the internet that where for sale and the short version is that I found a nice one, made an offer that I thought was going to not be accepted, and now I am the proud new owner of a 1994 C4. I was hoping to find a nice "Stingray" body style due to that being more the style my father had talked about during my childhood, but a really nice is a little bit out of my price range. Anyway, I am stoked with the car so far and have started doing little repairs to make it as good as I can before looking at how to get it home. So if anyone has any advice of international shipping of cars to Australia OR any advice on picking a RIGHT HAND DRIVE conversion company, feel free to let me know. I did a search on the internet and I don't see any in the USA so I assume I will have to wait until I get it home to have the job done.
Cheers.

Congrats on realizing the dream and joining the nicest bunch of Corvette people on the web!
I'd suggest utilizing the search feature using various keywords because it seems one of your countrymen had a thread at one time discussing right hand drive conversion "Down Under"!

Good luck!

Find a Corvette Club/Group near where your father lives in Oz,
and hit up the members there for info on where they had their
conversions done! :thumb Gotta be a LOT of info about those
conversions in the local clubs. If your Dad doesn't know
what you're doing, he's gonna be ONE SURPRISED AUSSIE!
Good luck with the car, the surprise, and the journey to get
them to your Dad.
